Kathy grew up on Mercer Island and moved to Lakewood when she was nine. She has lived in Gig Harbor for the past 25 years. She was a PE teacher at PLU where she served as the women’s athletic director for two years, after which she taught special education for 28 years with Tacoma Public Schools.
Kathy says she knew when she walked in the doors of Unity of Tacoma that she was home. Kathy has been a welcoming presence at Unity of Tacoma since 1997. She has sung in the choir, served as head usher, and participated in drama team. She is quick to serve in any capacity that may arise. Kathy has been recruited for the Board of Trustees many times but turned us down each time. She is a treasured member now that we’ve finally gotten her to say yes.
When not at Unity of Tacoma, Kathy worships at the altar of the Seahawks.
