Kayla Kunimoto grew up in a religious household, and at age 13 began questioning her relationship with God. After exploring and then avoiding religion, she found Unity of Tacoma. She was very impressed with an actual integration of multiple views and beliefs all together in one beautiful community.
The strength Kayla brings to the board of Unity of Tacoma is her eagerness to try new things and invite fresh ideas to the table. She values open-mindedness and is always ready to discuss any “crazy idea” you may have up your sleeve! Kayla will always try her best to understand varying perspectives and to be unbiased.
Kayla’s life outside of church consists of making art, exploring the outdoors, playing DnD, and studying as an environmental science major. She enjoys foraging for mushrooms or plants to cook with or just learning about all of the useful properties they hold. When Kayla is outdoors, she feels the most grounded and inspired, which is reflected in her art.
